Atmospheric circulation

The large-scale movement of air across the planet that redistributes heat from the Equator to the poles. It is driven by differences in temperature and pressure and organised into global circulation cells (Hadley, Ferrel and Polar cells) that create distinct climate zones and prevailing wind patterns.
