Convective storms

Intense weather events form when warm, moist air rises rapidly, cools, and condenses to produce towering cumulonimbus clouds. Convective storms are often associated with heavy rainfall, lightning, strong winds, and sometimes hail or tornadoes, and are common in regions with high surface heating and atmospheric instability.
